To Protect the San Luis Rey River Valley

RiverWatch was formed to protect the river and its watershed from environmental degradation. We oppose the siting of polluting and incompatible industry on the river and in the surrounding residential-agricultural community.

Gregory Canyon Ltd. has submitted an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to site a solidwaste landfill at our river's edge. This EIR will bypass County Counsel, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Supervisors and go directly to the county Department of Environmental Health for certification. This agency has never before been responsible for approving a dump site. Additional information can be found on the County of San Diego' s web site at www.co.san-diego.ca.us/deh/chd/gchome.html

RiverWatch has become a respected force in the community since we won our lawsuit to stop the Rosemary's Mountain quarry project. Now the dump looms on our local horizon.

Any contribution you make is greatly needed and will be appreciated by the entire community. Quarries and garbage dumps have no place on the beautiful San Luis Rey River. Please join us in fighting these projects. We can't sit back and let them destroy our valley without a fight!

Your contribution is tax deductible!
